When these kiddos, who only care about winning, get demolished while they get bounced around tier 3 and 4, they resort to cheats to even the playing field. This is the exact mentality that spawned guys like deathsython who was perfectly legit when he first joined quake live. I know because i used to watch him get slaughtered by the likes of mellowtab even.
With that said, if the tier system ( in CTF especially ) would get fixed, less people would abuse the system all together. The above quote by a forumgoer (NO, IT'S NOT ME, GOD FORBID SOMEONE ELSE SHARES MY OPINION) , shows that the skillmatching quote on the front page is still a joke to a lot of people. Everyone knows the skillmatching in this game sucks, yet id won't pull that lie from their website. So in essence, they are breeding players expecting a different gaming experience who then get frustrated with the fact that they were lied to, and also resort to cheating.
It's a vicious cycle, and LIKE ALWAYS, Syncerror has done nothing to correct it despite the large outpouring of support against the very system id setup for these players.

Ofcourse, so long as the ql moderators keep telling people the above bs, people will stick around a bit longer, only to get even more frustrated when they realized they were lied to. This is what we've come to expect from id's kisass volunteers on that forum though. Notice how quickly sponge came to yakumo's defense when someone questioned him.
